Commissioning A Landscape Painting
I just received this painting today and am so so in love with it, it’s even more perfect in person. Thank you, Jessie.” Julia
Here is a video showing the process of completing a commissioned portrait painting. The care and process are the same for a commissioned landscape painting.
First, we’ll talk briefly about your project. If we both agree that I’m the right artist for your project, we’ll start with a more in-depth consultation about what you are hoping to see and any specific needs.
If you commission a painting of your farm or a special location, you will have several opportunities to see the design and plans and approve the painting before I continue.
I will come to that location and either (1) paint on site, or (2) take lots of source photos (50-200) and then paint in my studio. If I paint on site, I may come back at the same time every day for several days or a few weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the painting, and then finish the painting in the studio.
You’ll get the chance to approve it, and then I’ll send or deliver your painting to you.

How far will you travel?
There is no travel charge within 50 miles of Brookings, SD. I do travel to Minneapolis for a small travel charge. For other locations, contact me for a quote.
How long will it take to get my painting?
It depends on how far out I’m booked, and the size of your painting. I can let you know the exact timeline when you contact me.
