Commissioning A Landscape Painting

Commissioning A Landscape Painting

I just received this painting today and am so so in love with it, it’s even more perfect in person. Thank you, Jessie.”         Julia

The commissioning process is quite a bit different from the regular painting process. First of all, I do not take all commissions – only the ones that I feel I can make a great piece of art for.

I am currently booked out for the next two months. If you would like to commission a painting, give me a call or send me an email. As soon as we have a contract, I’ll get your painting scheduled.

First, we’ll talk briefly about your project. If we both agree that I’m the right artist for your project, we’ll start with a more in-depth consultation about what you are hoping to see and any specific needs.

If you commission a painting of your farm or a special location, you will have several opportunities to see the design and plans and approve the painting before I continue.

I will come to that location and either (1) paint on site, or (2) take lots of source photos (50-200) and then paint in my studio. If I paint on site, I may come back at the same time every day for several days or a few weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the painting, and then finish the painting in the studio.

You’ll get the chance to approve it, and then I’ll send or deliver your painting to you.
