Playing In The Dirt / 6 x 8 in /oil on linen / $150

I wanted to capture the beets as they come out of the garden – dirt and all. What do you think?

I’ve been limiting my pallet lately in a new arrangement – ultramarine blue, quin red, and lemon yellow (for the most part). I’m usually drawn to the warm colors on my pallet, so I’m surprised that I just love this color combination.

“Orcas Island” / 6 in x 8 in, oil on wood / $180

We stayed in a bungalow (Buckhorn Farm Bungalow) last week on Orcas Island, in the San Juan Islands. It was really beautiful and relaxing, and I got in a couple of plein air paintings. This is a shed on the farm we stayed at with huge evergreen trees behind it and a fence to the left that surrounded a garden.
