Yellow Light / 6×6 in / oil on linen unframed /$150
I really liked the late afternoon yellow glow on this town. This scene reminded me of tuscan hillside paintings with all the roof tops, but with middle-American houses.
“Kite 2″ / 6×6 in / oil on linen unframed / $150
This mom and boy were in their own private world watching kites together at Kite Mountain this summer. I just love these public snuggles… Mom loving painting #24 – there are only 6 more Mom Loving paintings to complete the project. Email me if you’d like to submit a photo for one.

This is what the painting would look like framed.

“Dinoball” / 6″ x 8″ / oil on linen / $180
This is a painting of my son working a toy. I loved the light coming through his fingers, and that the toy looks like a baby bird or dinosaur.
4 of my paintings were accepted into Randy Higbee Gallery’s 6 Inch Squared show! Yeah!
Red Barn / 6×8 in / oil on linen /
I love driving around rural farm areas, especially on beautiful overcast or foggy days. Lately my son and I have “chased the fog” a few mornings – where we see where the fog is and where it ends. Super fun stuff! This scene is between us and the rollerskating rink and bowling alley.
Tony Moffitt just wrote a review of my artwork on his Artist Blog Critique web site. Thank you Tony!
More landscape paintings are on my “Landscape” page.
Tree on the Edge / 6×6 / oil on linen / SOLD
We go by this house and tree when we drive the back way home. I thought the red tree with the faint treed mountain in the background was beautiful.
I got a couple great frames recently and am having fun with them. Here’s what it would look like framed.
“Herding Apples” / 6×6 in / oil on linen /SOLD
100% of the final bid will be donated to the charity Every Mother Counts. This is a great cause. Click here to see all of the art being auctioned.
The need: Every 90 seconds, a women dies from childbirth. Fully 90% of those deaths are preventable. The Aid organization Every Mother Counts is training midwives in Afghanistan, opening health clinics in the Democratic Republic of Congo and shipping unused medical supplies to South Sudan. These are tangible, practical projects designed to combat maternal mortality and injuries worldwide.
I tried something different today – a low key painting, and very warm analogous colors – yellow, orange, red and red-violet. Because this painting was for the Every Mother Counts auction (charity), I wanted to do a still life setup that looked a little like a mom and kids. Hope you like it!
By the way, aren’t these apples beautiful? We picked them of the trees at Walters Ranch; they’re plum size and shape and color!
