“Rattlesnake Ridge” 12×16 inch oil on canvas painting, framed

My son and I went for a walk a couple weeks ago on a trail along the Little Spokane river. It’s a beautiful trail where sometimes you can see the river and sometimes it’s just a densely  pine tree shaded path.

Buy Now – $395 framed

In this painting you can see a little glimpse of the river and a house in the distance. I really like the way the tall trees on the left came out – I think those are my best trees so far, especially that red one. Sky-holes (where you can see sky or background through the greenery on a tree) are really hard for me, and I am always so pleased when it comes out just right.

*Price above is for a framed painting. If you prefer to purchase the painting unframed, either to hang frame-less or to have framed yourself, email me and I will set up a special invoice for you.

Ducks, painting in progress

oil painting of ducks

“Ducks, painting in progress” – 24×36 – oil on canvas

I started this painting some time ago and then put aside. This is a painting of the ducks at Rattlesnake Ridge swimming in the reedy river, with some bare trees behind them.

I can’t tell if it’s a “false start” or not, mainly because I like the wild dark reflection in the water. It seems like it has potential, but also some basic issues. Any ideas?

Coming Home 5, Dusk Skies (Cloudy Skies SERIES)

I started another larger (~12×20) painting of the farm fields in Eastern Washington yesterday, and am really happy with how it is turning out. I’m going for that feeling of dusk, with the red/green farm land, and purple mountains.

On a personal note, this has been a world-wind of a week. My son turned 3 on Saturday. Three! He’s growing so fast. It seems like he’s a completely different person from a year ago in certain ways, but still the same in the important ways – as sweet as can be, and gracious, and energetic. And then my husband had his birthday yesterday!  Happy birthday!

Jessie Rasche, an emerging artist with vigorous raw energy, works in the confines of small canvases with limited scope, naturally enticing the viewer into an intimate experience, reception.

I’ve been working on some larger paintings lately; I’ll post those soon.

Jessie will return Oct 13th

Hi all,

I am traveling and will not be uploading work until next Tuesday. Here’s a nice picture to look at while I’m gone. We’re in the MidWest right now – Minnisota and South Dakota. The weather is just like Seattle! Overcast and drizzle, but not too cold.
