I painted this in the studio yesterday. It was based on some photos I took from the beach on Orcas Island, looking across the water at another island and some mountains. It was a peaceful place to be, but also substantial and rugged. I wanted to capture the scale of that mountain, and the subtle colors.

Wow. You’ve really captured the moment with this painting, and the previous one with all the enclosing trees. It really makes me want to go back to visit that area again.
I love this little scene. The atmospheric perspective on this one makes it feel dreamy and cozy. I especially like your colors! Makes me wish I lived in your area!!
