I really like the colors in this painting.

I’m going through updating links, and I looked at this painting again. It’s one of my favorites. I painted this in the kitchen while my dad was visiting, and I thought I would be distracted and paint poorly… But the light was perfect and I was in the zone. I’m going to paint some more apples!

Mostly Water

park-jrasche8×10, oil on canvas. This morning I painted for an hour in the park, and it was just lovely. This is a wide river with hills and mountains in the distance. I didn’t get very far with the painting – I’ll go back to finish it some time.

I have been admiring these very tall pine trees since we moved in, and enjoyed painting them in the late afternoon light yesterday.

Bare Trees

snow-jrasche

6×6, oil on wood, contemporary wood frame. $150

A small snowey sceen to say good-bye to the snow! I love the way you can see through these bushy red bare trees, but just a little. Spring is here, and spring colors are to come!

My camera is being repaired, which is why there’s a long lag on my uploading my new paintings… I’m waiting for them to dry and scanning them.
